Technical introduction

Our stainless steel stampings with a material thickness of 0.2 - 3 mm are precision formed sheet metal parts that are manufactured from stainless steels using mechanical cutting and forming processes. They are used when reproducible geometries, tight tolerances and defined surface qualities are required. Typical applications can be found in mechanical engineering, electrical engineering, medical technology and in automotive and sensor technology. At Karl Naumann GmbH, we manufacture these parts as functional components within complex assemblies, tailored to material and process-specific requirements. The focus is on industrial series production with a clearly defined design basis.

Flat punched parts

Flat stamped parts are flat components without specific forming outside the sheet thickness. The functional principle is based purely on cutting with a punch and die. They differ from formed variants due to their flat geometry and are often used as contact springs, covers or spacers.

Precision stamped parts (fine blanking)

Precision punched parts are produced with an increased cut surface quality, resulting in a virtually smooth shearing area. Compared to conventional punching, the edges are virtually burr-free and dimensionally stable. This variant is relevant for safety and function-critical components.

Formed stamped and bent parts

This variant combines punching and bending operations in a progressive process. The functional principle allows three-dimensional geometries within tight spaces. A defined spatial shape is created to differentiate it from flat parts.

Deep-drawn stamped parts

Deep-drawn stamped parts are created by additional forming stages in which the material is formed in a flowing process. Their closed or cup-like geometries distinguish them from purely bent parts and are used where volume or stability is required.

Functional stamped parts with additional processing

These stamped parts are further processed after the basic process, for example by tapping, welding or surface treatment. They differ functionally through additional functions integrated within the component.

Series and large series stamped parts

This category does not describe a specific geometry, but rather a technical manufacturing characteristic. The focus is on process stability, tool life and consistent quality across large quantities.
