Brass stampings 0.2 - 3 mm

Dimensionally stable precision for contact and mechanical functions
Brass stampings
When components have to be dimensionally accurate, easy to assemble and contactable at the same time, brass is often the most economical material mix of formability, strength and corrosion behavior. Brass stampings 0.2 - 3 mm from Karl Naumann GmbH are designed for process-reliable contours, clean edges and reproducible series - so that your component does not become a source of errors in assembly, contacting or mechanics.

CuZn39Pb3 (CW614N) - EN 12164 / EN 12165
Better machinability (relevant for combined stamping/chipping processes); limited for forming depending on condition.

CuZn36Pb2As (CW602N) - EN 12164 / EN 12165
Dezincification-resistant (DZR) for humid/corrosive environments; useful for applications close to water or condensate.

Optional according to customer specifications: ASTM equivalents (e.g. depending on specification, also lead-free).

Quality, process control and traceability

For brass stamped parts, the focus is on contour accuracy, defined edges and a stable surface - especially for contact and clamping applications. Production is carried out with documented test characteristics, material-related batch management and reproducible process logic in order to limit series variation and assembly deviations.

Logistics, packaging and handling

  • Packaging: layer-separated, surface-protecting, optionally antistatic (for contact parts)
  • Marking: article number, material/batch, batch data; optional 2D code
  • Delivery concepts: Call-off and blanket orders, defined delivery windows
  • Traceability: can be documented by material and batch

Precise functional parts for fittings and valve construction

This variant is used when good machinability and punchability must be combined with defined dimensional accuracy for sealing and guiding functions. The focus is on clean hole patterns, dimensionally stable contact surfaces and installation-friendly edges for media guides and add-on parts, e.g. in sanitary technology, pneumatics and process fittings.

Contact and spring sheet metal parts for electrical engineering

Brass is used when a combination of electrical conductivity, spring effect and good formability is required. Typical applications are plug-in and clamping components, contact tongues or shield connections, where reproducible contact forces and contour-accurate functional surfaces are crucial.

Stamped and bent parts for mounting and housing integration

Here, spatial shapes such as tabs, clips or holders are created from the punched blank. The difference to flat blanks lies in the 3D integration: brass enables tight radii and dimensionally stable bending edges, which supports assembly-friendly geometries in devices, assemblies and cover systems.

Stamped brass parts for detent, stop and positioning functions

With this design, local functional contours are introduced, such as latching lugs, stops, centering points or rigidity embossing. The benefit lies in the functional integration without additional individual parts; the geometry is defined in the tool and generated in a repeatable manner.

Technical parameters - Embossed function variants

Decorative cover and visible parts (surface focus)

This variant is aimed at visible surfaces where optical quality is important in addition to contour accuracy. Typical applications include bezels, emblems, cover rings or decorative components in appliances, fittings and instruments, often with downstream finishing processes.

High-contour perforated and grid parts (filters, screens, shields)

The functional surface (open surface, flow or shielding effect) dominates with hole and grid geometries. Brass is used when corrosion behavior, formability and precise hole patterns need to be combined, e.g. for protective grilles, covers, simple filter elements or EMC-related components.

Punched parts close to the assembly with defined assembly guidance

This category includes parts that are primarily defined by assembly and position references: Fits, reference holes, insertion chamfers or stop edges. The difference to purely contour-driven parts lies in the specific design for repeatable assembly processes (manual or automated).
